Michael Kirungi is a passionate preacher and mission-driven leader with over 15 years of experience serving vulnerable communities in Uganda. He is the Founder and CEO of
Mifik Global Mission and also the Lead Pastor of Mifik Community Church. He is
married to Flavia Kirungi, and they have four children: Michelle, Marcus, Mackenzie
Felisha. Through Mifik Global Mission, he supports children, families, and women
through child sponsorship, community outreach, and women’s empowerment programs.
He is leading the development of a transformational campus in rural Uganda that
includes Mifik Stars Kindergarten, Mifik Junior School, and Mifik Community Church,
with plans to expand to a high school, hospital, vocational school, and other community
projects. Michael is committed to discipleship, empowerment, and building sustainable
programs that bring hope, faith, and long-term transformation. He welcomes
partnerships with individuals and organizations passionate about missions and
community development.
Holly Dietert has been involved with adult, family, and youth mission experiences
through her church, Tarrytown United Methodist Church in Austin, Texas, both in the
United States and internationally since 2000. Holly is also a member of the handbell
choir and her Sunday School class. She is a former Lay Leader for the congregation and
has held many other leadership positions within the church, as well as acting as the
Russia Mission team leader. Holly has been a youth sponsor and was active in the youth
ministry and mission trips. She has worked as a Teacher for the Blind and Visually
Impaired with the Austin Independent School District and as a private contractor
teacher for 29 years.
Carey Dietert has engaged in mission activities with his church, Tarrytown United
Methodist Church in Austin, Texas, for more than 25 years, both locally and around the
world. Besides his mission work, he is active in his church Sunday School and a member
and soloist with the Tarrytown UMC chancel choir. Carey is now retired after a 26-year
career in sales and marketing with Dell Technologies and 32 years singing with Austin
Opera as a chorus and solo artist, leaving more time to spend with his grandson and to
travel abroad.
Flavia Namutebi Kirungi is married to Michael Kirungi, and over their 15 years of
marriage, God has blessed them with four children. She is a passionate servant leader
with a strong commitment to people-centered transformation. Through Compassion’s
Leadership Development Program, she was supported to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in
Community Psychology at Makerere University, equipping her to connect meaningfully
with individuals and communities. After graduating in 2008, she began her career at BRAC Uganda, where she empowered young girls with essential life and livelihood skills.
In 2010, Flavia joined Africa Renewal Ministries, where she has faithfully served in
several roles, rising from Support Staff to Administrative Assistant, Child Sponsor
Relations Officer, and currently Human Resource Manager. To strengthen her leadership
and people management expertise, she attained a Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resource Management and a Master’s degree in Management, specializing in Human Resource Management, from Uganda Management Institute. Flavia is deeply passionate
about people, particularly children, youth, and women, and is committed to nurturing
growth, dignity, and purpose in the lives she serves. She is grateful to God for the
responsibility entrusted to her at Mifik Global Mission, where she serves as a Board
Secretary and provides strategic support in human resource governance and
organizational people-management processes.
Apollo Kaggwa is the lead Pastor at Christ Way Church Kampala-Uganda and has an immense experience in planning and conducting Pastoral training and events. He has partnered with various non Profits in reaching out to the needy communities through giving relief across Uganda. He has also worked as a TV presenter at Light house TV Uganda. He is married to Annette and together they have two biological daughters and two foster sons.
Denis Kato is a committed Christian of over 20 years and is currently one of the deacons of Deliverance church Kansanga where he also leads the ministry of the youth and young adults. He is also a leader in the music ministry at the same church. Denis has a passion and a vision of supporting to improve the lives of destitute women and their children. He currently works as a Business and strategy Developer at the Uganda Revenue Authority where he has served for six years. Denis is a family man of one wife Monica Nalubega and currently one daughter Moriah Kisa.
Derek Barcinski is an architect in Austin Texas who has been involved with Campus Master Planning and Mission work for almost three decades. Derek has been part of relief and mission teams in Central Texas, the US and Africa. He has been on university, neighborhood and church boards in Boston and Austin. Derek and his family have been members of Tarrytown United Methodist Church in Austin since 1997.
Peace Masiko Hasahya Peace Masiko Hasahya is a visionary strategist and catalyst for
change with over 15 years of leadership expertise in communications, event
architecture, and strategic management. As the founder of ETHOS, Peace has pioneered
a "digital-first" philosophy that merges operational precision with environmental
stewardship, successfully redirecting human talent toward high-value social innovation.
A passionate advocate for human capital, she leads the ETHOS Professional
Development Program, a rigorous mentorship initiative bridging the gap between
academic potential and marketplace readiness for the next generation of leaders. She is also a mentor, and now serves as a Mentor with the Mercedez Benz Be-Visioneers
Fellowship. Beyond her executive role, Peace brings extensive governance experience to
the board, notably through her tenure previously as Board Chair and current member of
Mifik Global Mission. Known for her commitment to Impact through Empowerment,"
she excels in building sustainable ecosystems where innovation, ethical clarity, and
strategic autonomy converge to drive permanent social change.
Simon Rwamura is a finance and governance leader with over a decade of experience supporting organizational sustainability, accountability, and mission impact. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with strong expertise in business analysis, financial stewardship, and large-scale operational initiatives. Simon serves as a Business Analyst at Compassion
International, where he supports enterprise decision-making through data-driven insights,
systems deployment, and process optimization that strengthen ministry effectiveness. He also
chairs the Compassion Uganda Staff Savings and Credit Cooperative (Credit Union), providing oversight to a financial institution managing assets exceeding UGX 3.2 billion. As Board Chairman of Mifik Global Mission, Simon offers strategic leadership and governance oversight to advance the mission’s global vision, ensuring resources are managed with integrity and
aligned to long-term impact. His passion lies in strengthening institutions so they can sustainably serve communities and protect the most vulnerable. Simon holds an MBA from
Edinburgh Business School, Heriot-Watt University (Scotland- UK), and a Bachelor of Business
Computing from Makerere University -Kampala -Uganda
Bob Torres has been a devoted Christian since his conversion in 1977 at age 17, after leaving a false cult through a powerful work of the Holy Spirit. He committed early to ministry, serving at the San Jose Rescue Mission with at-risk youth and later studying at Prairie Bible Institute in Canada. During this time, he joined “Mission to Europe’s Millions,” smuggling Bibles into Communist countries and supporting underground churches.
Bob has served as a full-time youth pastor in two California churches, led home groups, and continues to be active in missions, including annual trips to Mexico. He is currently an elder and leader at Dungeness Community Church in Sequim, Washington.
A seasoned preacher, Bob has ministered across Europe, Canada, the U.S., Mexico, and Uganda. Professionally, he has been a Realtor and real estate business owner since 1994, viewing his work as an extension of his faith. Bob has been married to his wife, Staci, since 1977, and they share four children. Throughout his life and ministry, he seeks to reflect the love of God in all he does.
